Service Coordinator

Reports to: Service Manager

Class: Full-Time/Hourly

Primary Role: Service Department Coordinator (SDC) will be the primary point of contact for client service calls, and repair machine authorizations (RMA). This role will require the SDC to listen and capture detailed information which generates service calls for technicians. The ability to document client issues and concerns to the level of need and dispatch Nor-Com technicians in the most efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to calls from clients and create a ticket documenting their issue
  • Schedule / dispatch technicians
  • Coordinating with other departments/coordinators/team leaders for capturing other resources to assist in service issues
  • Preparing for the technician to be successful on the service call — Communicating special needs which may be required, searching for system drawings from historical projects, pre-ordering replacement parts if clear from the client a product has failed etc.
  • Interacting with partner sub-contract firms to properly assign work and assure completion and billing remain accurate.
  • Properly managing workflow steps to comply with company best practices.
  • Consistently communicate with recurring clients on their needs / expectations for upcoming events
  • Interacting with remote affiliates, seeking quotes from them to perform work in their area of coverage, coordinate with the local client on the details, manage documentation with client (get PO etc.),
  • Retrieve Return Material Authorization (RMA) for product which has failed and will be replaced. Seeking estimates for repair of products.
  • Work with our procurement group for purchasing equipment as required for service issues
  • Check on warranty coverage of products being considered for repair or replacement
  • Advise client of options available: repair, replace, upgrade etc.
  • Produce and submit billing for work being performed by the Service Department
  • Manage and coordinate Central Monitoring Station (CMS) arrangements, create, cancel and update accounts for recurring Monthly Revenue (RMR) clients, intrusion alarm, fire alarm.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, Database Software
  • Preferred by not required; =/> 1 year experience in Audio Visual, Security, I.T. systems industry
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

Lead Technician

Primary Role: Base level technical installation across all systems that Nor-Com sells.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency with a wide range of systems and processes, must be highly adept in both written and oral communication. Lead Technicians will be accountable for daily activity of crews on assigned project job-sites; is expected to lead by example, enforcing compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities: Shows up to job site on time, follow instructions, seek to understand tasks assigned, grow in knowledge and skill appropriate to job.

Qualifications: Applicant shall be a business or industry expert and understand the critical issues of our Customers and this business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • LT’s are responsible for the successful completion of their projects, and are considered knowledgeable of that particular project’s specifications and requirements.
  • LT’s work closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, Sales and Design, Team Lead and Engineers. LT’s are project focused from the beginning through completion.
  • LT’s are expected to assist in the supervision of our work force, subcontractors and the paper management /documentation of these resources.
  • Required to have a good working knowledge in the successful commissioning, testing, reporting and AIA required acceptance closeout policies and practices
  • High School Diploma – Tech or Vocational school
  • ESPA Certified- EST Credential Test for base line

Sales Account Manager

The role demands the knowledge and experience equal or greater than the median knowledge base for the industry. You should possess knowledge of vendor issues, related contractor issues, independent representative issues, and other business groups which relates to their projects, sales or customer’s needs.

Travel:

Travel maybe required for training/meetings for out of town clients or industry events such as NSCA and InfoComm may be required.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Develops sales leads and contacts through business needs, as well as generating leads and/or relationships for Nor-Com’s other building technologies.
  • Regularly visits customers and their job sites to promote Nor-Com’s products and services.
  • Meets or exceeds annual assigned sales volume and profit objectives through personal sales efforts.
  • Coordinates activities regularly with other sales personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and sales success.
  • Assists with trade show and other group sales and team marketing efforts as needed.  Actively participates in professional trade organizations such as INFOCOMM, NSCA, etc.
  • Works to ensure that Nor-Com is fairly compensated for all work including that performed outside contractual obligations.  Assists with account collection issues as requested.
  • Involves Nor-Com management in negotiated and other business opportunities that present unusual or excessive risk.
